AMERICAN MUSLIM COALITION STEWARD CIRCLE
The Stewards in the Board of Advisors are the initiators and facilitators of the coalition, who are long-time recognized members of the community.
AKHTAR CHAUDRY
- Akhtar Chaudry is a long-time resident of KC metro. He has enjoyed a successful and impactful executive level career in private, public, and not for profit sectors. He has also devoted much of his time in serving the community by assuming leadership roles at numerous Boards, including as Chairman of the Urban League of Greater Kansas City and Heart to Heart International. He is passionate about causes that promote civil rights, interfaith dialogue, build equity and inclusion and meet humanitarian needs and address community and urban development challenges. He was also the President of the Heartland Muslim Council, an advocacy organization created in the aftermath of 9/11.
Dr. Syed Eqbal Hasan
- Dr. Syed Eqbal Hasan came to Kansas City in 1979 to join the faculty of the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). He retired in 2014 after a distinguished academic career, spanning 35 years of teaching and research. He is the only scholar in the world who has the distinction of authoring two award-winning college textbooks in the field of environmental science. His numerous community services include establishing MSA-UMKC in 1983 and serving as its faculty advisor for 31 years; president of the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City, Muslim Students’ Association of Greater Kansas City, and the Shawnee Mission Islamic Education Centre which established Masjid-e-Maryam in 2019.
Khalid Hussain
- Khalid Hussain is a retired executive with extensive experience in public and civil service. Renowned for his creativity and innovative thinking, he holds six distinct patents granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Khalid has actively contributed to various charitable initiatives, demonstrating his commitment to community service. Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the Islamic Center of Northland and is the Executive Director of Alnoor Quran/Sunday School and Interfaith Relations, where he fosters educational and interfaith dialogue within the community.
Shahid Sami Qadri
- Humbly dedicated to utilizing and sharing decades of global experience, knowledge, and creativity gained in executive and project management, energy engineering, consulting, mentoring and community building initiatives, to make the lives of people better and happier, and of American Muslims of Kansas City in particular. Played key leadership and support roles in building Masaajids in Purdue University, Reading PA, and in Kansas City, establishing and contributing to success of Pakistan Engineers Forum in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan American Society of Greater Kansas City, International Relations Council, Corporate Council on Africa, Shining ⛅️ Lights in Africa(Orphanage support) are a few examples.
Zulfiqar Malik
- Zulfiqar Malik is one of the pioneers of Muslim community in Kansas City and editor of KC Calendar & News.
The Stewardship Circle consists of community members, and leaders who are part of the Coalition leadership with their constructive counsel and active participation.
